7 Common HIV Myths Debunked

This is a brilliant article from Buzzfeed. It's incredible how misinformation abounds about HIV even after all these years, which of course feeds stigma and leads to increased infections. You can read the lot at the site, but here are the 7 myths in summary:

1. HIV is not a gay disease
2. “Down low” men are infecting Black women
3. Only sluts get HIV
4. Gay men get HIV because they have riskier sex
5. Condoms are the only form of HIV protection
6. “Full-blown AIDS” is a thing
7. The HIV epidemic is no longer a big deal

Number 3 is interesting. I was talking to someone ages ago who was so pissed right off. He had sex one time and got it.
