Presbyterians threaten to end all marriages if gay marriage - Australia

Talk about history repeating itself. This is the same shit that's been coming out of the US for a while now. Denominations, even whole states over there, threatening to just stop doing marriages altogether if gay marriage becomes legal. Now the New South Wales branch of the Australian Presbyterian church is threatening/discussing the notion of actually stopping all wedding ceremonies it performs if gay marriage becomes legal in Australia. A total over the top dummy spit.
The Presbyterian Church of NSW has discussed withdrawing from the Marriage Act if it is amended to include couples of the same sex, saying it would be better to "avoid association with evil by no longer acting as celebrants", a document obtained by SBS has revealed.

At last week's assembly - the annual meeting of all Presbyterian churches in the NSW - the church voted to ask its federal body to take the necessary steps to withdraw from the Act should the law change.

The motion was passed by a vote of 140 to 62. more
Well don't worry darlings. When gay marriage finally gets up here in Australia, a church is the last place I'd want to get married in after all the hate it's shown gays. I suspect most Australian gays would be in agreement. After all, who'd want to be part of an organisation that hates you?

More specifically your church. David and I will make a purposeful note to not even think about such a ghastly thing as being married in a church that hates us; that wants to go to the point of taking their toys and going home like a fuckin toddler. So don't worry, after this shit no gays will go a mile near you for marriage.

So take your toys and go home homophobes. And stick them up your ass; being so scared of us and going to such lengths against us simply shows your full of gayness yourselves and scared of it.

Fuck you. Fuck your church. Fuck bigots. Fuck your bible

Love will win.

Same-sex marriage isn’t the threat.

The threat is turning to outdated religious codes to justify inequality, intolerance and discrimination. The threat is people who live by those same religious codes, persecuting and vilifying people because of sexual orientation. The threat is allowing fundamentalists and extremists to push their own views on the rest of the Australian public, fuelling more hate and discrimination. more
