"A Current Affair" takes up Gary John's cause - "no contrception, no dole" (video)

Gary John's - wants to control women's uterus's
I posted about Gary Johns recently here, where he wrote crap for The Australian newspaper that women on welfare shouldn't have babies. I went into some detail in my reaction to said crap there if you're interested in that side of the matter.

Well none other than ratings seeker at whatever cost show A Current Affair has taken up the Johns cause, as discussed here:
Though marketed as “the debate that’s dividing the nation”, the ten-minute story was solely based on an idea from former Labor MP Gary Johns. Johns has been arguing for a number of years now that our welfare system which supports unemployed parents is incentivising people to have children and being exploited for personal gain. First raising the idea in an opinion piece for The Australian a year ago, he argued compulsory contraception would “crack intergenerational reproduction of strife”. This was promptly dismissed by welfare organisations as cruel and absurd. Junkee
Yep, nothing like a good old fashioned kicking of poor people to get your frustrations out eh? Blame the poor for the gov fucking everything up! How dare they have babies! Welfare is not a right! Welfare people aren't humans! Flog them all!

They even had an absurdly ridiculous poll, where women actually felt obliged to vote for their right to use their own body to reproduce:
*sheesh* How easy it is to get people all riled up about welfare recipients FFS. Perhaps instead of demanding women go on invasive contraception medicines, we should demand men don't fuck them at all and see what sort of a vote comes to the fore then? What? No sex? What an invasion of men's human rights!

Actually when I saw that vote tweet, it kind of reminded of me of having to vote for the right of David and I to marry, but that's another story.

Speaking of story, here's the video of the A Current Affair report in full.
