Turnbull challenges Abbott for Lieberal leadership - It's on!

Oh joy of joys! Hip hip hooray! What a way to get cheered up!

Finally, finally, Turnbull has developed a spine. He will now challenge Abbott to become Australian prime minister.
Malcolm Turnbull will challenge Tony Abbott for leadership of the Liberal Party and has asked the Prime Minister for a leadership ballot, bringing to a head months of poor polling and internal division. 

Mr Turnbull, who has resigned as Communications Minister, said it had become clear that Mr Abbott "has not been capable of providing the economic leadership our nation needs" and that poll after poll had shown "the people have made up their mind about Mr Abbott's leadership". Read more
It has been two very long years. Years in which Australians endured an assault on their way of life at every turn. When our intelligence was insulted by Team Abbott's patronising and condescention. Where our international reputation was hopelessly trashed. Where partisan stupidity took the place of common sense and logic.

Abbott will not be remembered kindly by future political commentators or his own party. Lieberals eat their young when the shit hits the fan like this. This must surely be the worst gov since federation.
