Prescriptions reduce in price

Well how nice. The news is jumping up and down about prescriptions going down in price. Suppose it's better than nothing. Dunno if it's going to mean much for me. A dollar or two here and there I suppose. They even have a link to some pdf at the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme new listings as the savings started yesterday I think, but I can barely see it let alone figure it out.

And the story:
THOUSANDS of families will pay less for prescription drugs, as the biggest cuts in the history of the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme hit chemist shelves.

Prices will drop on 1000 brands of 60 popular prescription medicines by up to $14 a script.
Taxpayers who subsidise the cost of the medicines through the PBS will also save $1.9 billion over five years.

Drug companies hope those savings also will help the Federal Government list new drugs on the taxpayer-funded PBS, with a swag of new treatments for cancer, arthritis and kidney failure also to join the taxpayer-subsidised medicines scheme from April 1.

A comprehensive analysis of the savings for families prepared by the Health Department for the Sunday Mail  reveals drugs to lower cholesterol, treat high blood pressure, osteoporosis, depression, heart failure and reflux will be reduced in price from today.

Having been feeling very flat today. Not too worried about it. Maybe it's just that I've have fuck all money since Friday, just getting by on the credit card until this coming Thursday. Didn't spend up big or anything, just a few beers on Friday night locally. Daughter was short in rent this week, so that means I'm short on cash. Have been actually keeping things steady with the money last few weeks, so don't want to end that progress but going nuts again.

Not been spending anything since Friday except groceries and prescriptions (ironically). It was still $50 for my anti-sad pills and blood pressure for the month. Can't remember what it was, or how much the price may have come down. If at all. Just plain old meat, potatoes, and veges. Nothing spectacular. Got some sausages and kangaroo for the next couple of days, and had a steak last night. Think I'm a kangaroo convert. Is cheap, lean and very nice to eat.
