"Stop The Plebiscite" - Australian Marriage Equality

Australian Marriage Equality is raising money for a campaign to stop the marriage equality plebiscite. As we all know it's another Abbott captain's call that has no binding effect on how Lieberals will vote anyway. 

With the budget being discussed leading up to May, now is the time to pressure the Turnbull gov not to waste $150million on a pointless poll on steroids. 

In eager anticipation of a costly and divisive plebiscite, the “no” camp is calling to suspend critical laws in place that protect vulnerable Australians. What’s more, they’re asking for government funding to help them run their damaging public campaign against marriage equality. Please help us raise $30,000 to save Australians $160 million and the LGBTI community from having to endure a divisive and emotional public campaign by our opposition. 

We will use the funds to fly religious leaders and, mental health experts to Canberra, to discuss the negative impact a plebiscite will have on the community. We will run television ads and, continue our work running targeted campaigns against the plebiscite in coalition seats. This work is ongoing and critical and unfortunately expensive. contribute here
