I got marched out in 2014 after Abbott's evil and disastrous budget. Haven't been out since then. But this time I'm really feeling the urge to vent my rage at the Turnbull Lieberal gov over it's plans to privatise $50billion in Medicare payments, outsourcing them to their corporate mates.
Putting our private medical data in corporate hands. With those of us suffering a stigmatising disease like HIV this would be a huge concern. It's our choice as to who we divulge our status to, not the corporations.
Not only that, it means that private corporations will have the power to decide who is and isn't eligible for Medicare funded healthcare. This is an attack on universal healthcare for all.
Other protests here. The Sydney one is Sat 1pm at Town Hall. You can say you're coming here if you like. Say no to the Americanisation of our health care!
