Anal cancer screen today - two biospy's taken

I re-entered the anal cancer Study after pulling out a year ago over unforeseen circumstances. So I had an appt today at the hospital through the study instead of as a normal patient. Am quite happy for the results go into the anal cancer study to help future patients.

The reason for the study, again, is because when the anti-retrovirals were discovered in the '90's, and people improved with the HIV becoming much less of an effect on the body, other illness's experienced by HIV+ people also reduced correspondingly. However anal cancer did not, and for some reason still remains a high risk for gay people with HIV. Even when the viral load is undetectable.

So it was the usual thing today, questions about my sex life on the computer, blood taken to screen for STI's (not that I need that in recent years being with David) and then the grand anal probing.......

Yes darlings, it's not every day you get to look right up into the very insides of your asshole on a PC monitor, as the doctor pushes and probes......

End result, he found two small areas of high risk again and took two more biopsy's. So it's a bit sore but nothing much really. As the areas were so small (only a couple of cm wide he said) it's likely simply the act of taking the biopsy will clear the areas as they heal from that.

Will find out the results of it all in about three weeks.
