Turnbull sides with the homophobes over Safe Schools Program for LGBT

*Update: Zealots are trying to drag us back to the Dark ages The Age.

More love from the christians......

Alleged messiah Turnbull has sided with extremist homophobia, and ordered an investigation into the Safe Schools Program being introduced across Australia, which aims to educate teachers and give them resources to help make schools safe for young LGBT students. It was requested by teachers and Principles across Australia. Presently it's all too common for said students to suffer bullying, with that being a major factor in young LGBT suicide rates six times higher than the average.

Yet the likes of Cori-"gay marriage will lead to bestiality"-Bernadi in the federal Lieberal party (evidently listening to the likes of the Australian Christian Lobby) have kicked up a stink about the program, saying the Safe Schools Program for the LGBT is a "political agenda", and "indoctrination". Pretty rich coming from someone who wants to indoctrinate everyone with his christian political agenda.....

Unbelievably, Turbull has sided with the lunar right extremists in the Lieberal party, such as Bernadi, and has seen fit to order an investigation into the whole program.

"What an exciting time to innovate"

I can't imagine what must be going through the heads of many young LGBT students around the country right now, seeing their gov question their identity and associated problems as possibly not worthy of addressing. Their identity being politicised yet again by christians who are against them. What a crime being committed against these people.

Thankfully, major political party Labor has come to their defence, with leader Bill Shorten  calling Bernadi a homophobe to his face (vine below). Labor Premier of Victoria Daniel Andrews has marvelously truthful words to add to that.
Opposition Leader Bill Shorten said it was "disgraceful that an Australian child may fall victim to Malcolm Turnbull’s failure to stand up to the right wing of his party".

"Life is already difficult enough for young people — they shouldn't have to put up with the added stress of bullying and intimidation in the schoolyard," he said in a statement.

Labor senator Penny Wong, who was among those who announced the initial funding, dismissed criticisms that the program was ideological.

"We all want our children to be safe and this is a program about that," she said.

"Let's hope that the more sensible people in the Liberal Party will continue to focusing that objective."

Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews, whose home state first developed the program in 2010, said he was "sick of Liberal politicians telling our kids that there's something wrong with them".

"Let's be honest here: I don't think these extreme Liberals are actually offended by the structure of the program, or the teachers who lead it. I just think they're offended by the kids who need it," he said in a Facebook post. ABC
