Sydney housing rose 22.9% whilst wages rose 2.3% - Housing unaffordability in Sydney

The full infographic below is even more informative.

The gov has failed to provide us with housing that people can afford. Instead all the new developments appear to be luxury apartments that no locals can buy without the help of parents or other investments.

Tell Scott Morrison to end negative gearing tax breaks here
To Treasurer Scott Morrison,

Housing in Sydney is no longer affordable for normal working people. When house prices rise 22.9% in one year and wages only rise 2.3%, people can no longer keep up.

Your predecessor as Treasurer, Joe Hockey, didn’t take this seriously. He said that people who can’t afford mortgages should “get a good job that pays good money” and that “if housing were unaffordable in Sydney, no-one would be buying it.”

We urge you to have the courage to do what’s needed to end this crisis by abolishing tax breaks on negative gearing. tell him
