Wendy's war with Australian beef! - US

OMG! The fast food chain in the US, Wendy's, has launched itself into warfare with Australian beef. Good god!

Here's the adds screening all over the place over there! It's outrageous!

So I thought if our beef was as bad as the frozen hockey puck they were describing, I thought I should research online as to how good Wendy's hamburgers in the US actually are. It was pretty bloody dismal actually, although to be fair it is fast food made by pimply faced teenagers.....

I watched this video of various fast food efforts at making burgers according to their advertisments. Here is the first attempt of Wendy's, compared to the ad:

The second attempt, when they were really really trying, wasn't much better.

I was sort of comforted thereafter knowing that our wonderful Australian beef wasn't being butchered by Wendy's restaurants across the US. After all, quality beef doesn't deserve to be treated in such a disrespectful way :) Even McDonald's did a better job. *faints*

Think I'll go and fry some of that delicious Australian beef right now. Mmmmmmmm......  Nothing like that Wendy's crap! Much less fat you know:
Aussie meat experts have brushed off the potentially damaging advertisements.

Meat & Livestock Australia’s North American business manager David Pietsch described the campaign as “a light-hearted ad to push” Wendy’s position.

He said meat producers in Australia had many loyal American customers because of the quality of their product.

“There’s a number of companies in the US that use a proportion of Australian beef that is very lean to mix in with their fattier domestically produced beef to make the perfect formulation for a hamburger,” Mr Pietsch said.

According to 2014 figures published in QSR, McDonald’s generated the most sales in the year in the US – some $37.5 billion dollars worth – across 12,837 outlets.

Those figures ranked it as the number one fast food outlet in the US.

On the other hand, Wendy’s sold $8.5 billion worth of food across its 4895 stores.

This had it ranked at number five, behind Burger King, Subway, Starbucks and McDonald’s.

Maybe Aussie beef is better, after all. The New Daily
