Gays can become straight - senator Abetz, Australia (video)


Just when you thought you'd heard it all from this man, he comes out with probably one of the most ignorant and stupid things he's probably ever said. Yes folks, being gay or straight is what one "choses to be", and gays can chose to be straight you see, according to Abetz. 

 The interviewer should have asked him at what point did he chose to be straight?

 The truth is that straight and gay can be used as black and white labels, when in reality there are many shades of gray. I loved my late wife and now David in the same way, and sexuality shouldn't be an impediment to that love. I guess that means I'm somewhere in between gay and straight, but how do you define something like that with a label? 

 David however is very much on the gay side and has never been in love with a woman. It's just not him. For Abetz to assert that David could just decide to be straight is absurd. To say you can be someone different than who you are just by choice is spectacularly dumb. It'd be like being able to change your skin colour just by deciding to be a different colour.

 How in the hell this imbecilic moron ever was elected to the federal parliament is beyond me. He's just another bitter old white Catholic man holding onto ignorance and the past for dear life. What a pathetic man.
Tasmanian Senator Eric Abetz has said he believes there is evidence people who are homosexual can become heterosexual.

 Senator Abetz, who campaigned fiercely against the Safe Schools bullying program, said he believed the media needed to be more balanced on reporting of sexuality issues and slammed business leaders over their campaign for same-sex marriage.

 In the latest exchange, Senator Abetz was asked if people who are homosexual could switch to become straight.

 “So do you personally believe that gays and lesbians can pull up their bootstraps and show a bit of discipline and become heterosexuals, do you actually think they can stop being who they are?” Sky News’ Samantha Maiden asked Senator Abetz replied:

“The evidence that has been given to Senate committees where people who have been in gay relationships have then gone into heterosexual relationships”. The Australian
