Rights of the terminally ill bill introduced
The final draft of the Bill is being introduced tomorrow in the New South Wales parliament by Greens MP Cate Faehrmann. Following will be some weeks of debate. She says in her email that it's looking like the best chance yet to get it going here.
The Rights of the Terminally Ill Bill would ensure that a patient who has a terminal illness and who is experiencing unacceptable pain or suffering can receive assistance to end their life if that is their wish.
This assistance would take the form of the provision of a substance that the patient would themselves administer, or, in the case of severe physical disability, be provided assistance to administer. more
You can download the Bill here. There's also a very good flowchart available there too, or you can see it through this direct link. (PDF).
