One thing about Turnbull is at least he not war mongering on Syria, making noises about diplomatic solutions as opposed to bombing the fuck out of the place.
Amnesty now is demaing Turnbull do his bit to get Syrian refugees a safe home.
We call on the Australian Government to:
increase diplomatic efforts to demand all parties to the conflict abide by the rules of war and protect civilians;
support humanitarian assistance and human rights monitors to reach vulnerable people on the ground;
take all possible steps to avoid harming civilians during military operations;
and ensure people fleeing the horrors of Syria are treated fairly, including by increasing assistance to refugee hosting countries and accelerating the resettlement of Syrians to Australia. demand here
