Martin Shkreli resigns - Turing vows to make HIV drug affordable again

Big Pharma crook Martin Shkreli has resigned from his present position as captain of Turing pharmaceuticals.

Turing has vowed to make the HIV drug Daraprim affordable again for all patients.
On Twitter, the top hashtag and keyword related to his arrest was #Karma, in reference to him boosting drug prices and also buying a sole copy of a Wu-Tang Clan album for $US2 million, with no plans to listen to it.

But his arrest was not linked to the increase in the price of Daraprim, a drug used to treat malaria and infections suffered by HIV-positive people, a move that raised the ire of many, including Democratic frontrunner Hillary Clinton.

Shkreli rose to infamy earlier this year after he bought rights to Daraprim and promptly raised the price from $13.50 a tablet to $750.

Mr Tilles, who is also Turing's chairman, vowed to make Daraprim affordable again.

"We remain committed to ensuring that all patients have ready and affordable access to Daraprim," Mr Tilles said. ABC
