Busted cops

It must be pretty big news up there in Darwin for it to make it all the way from the Northern Territory to here. But then again, it's hugely serious. Have a look at the charge sheet for the six of them:

It does make me wonder, how the hell did they get this far with it without being caught? I would suggest there's going to be a lot more to this.
TWO prison guards, a corrections department worker, a fire fighter, a police officer and civilian have been arrested and charged over an alleged drug and corruption scandal within the Territory public service.

.......................

The guards - a woman, 24, and a man, 28 - and the department worker, a 22- year-old woman who police allege illegally accessed data and was dealing drugs, must now "show cause'' why they should not be suspended.

The Sunday Territorian understands the drugs involved in the case were steroids and amphetamine-type substances, including ecstasy.

The 24-year-old woman, who was charged with 20 offences including trying to communicate with a prisoner, was refused bail during a hearing with Magistrate Greg Cavenagh yesterday .

The male civilian, who is facing corruption and drugs charges, was also refused bail.

The corrections worker, a 45-year-old alleged drug-running fire fighter and accused data-raiding NT Police officer, 44, were bailed to face Darwin Magistrates Court.

Sources say the sting was just the tip of the iceberg. more
