Pension payment increase lie

Good grief, how stupid does the federal gov think us pensioners are? Is Andrews in some kind of spin doctor damage control after the latest polls have clobbered the gov? Is the gov trying to save the lieberals in WA? Honestly I've seen some pretty stupid self aggrandisement from various gov's over the decades (Like when the Lieberals claimed the tax cut compensation for the GST was an actual "tax cut") but this one absolutely takes the cake. What's more it makes Kevin Andrews look the the stupid fool he is.

Oh really? Hang on, I smell a rat..... We already get increases in pensions every year according to the CPI or whatever. Any pensioner will tell you that! So WTF is Andrews talking about? Is this an increase on top of the CPI adjustments? You'd hardly think so with the gov shouting economic doom from the rooftops. But surely to the gods he's couldn't be so stupid as to announce an increase already planned and announced long ago? He couldn't be that stupid. Could he?

This Kevin Andrews is seriously stupid. The other rat I smell is the Murdoch press. Both of them are stupid then! Do they actually think that pension increase dates are not indelibly imprinted on the minds of the pension recipients? It's the height of arrogance to think that we're going to swallow this lie from the Lieberals.

Then again, was this story even meant for the people that already know? Or is it to get support from working people who are starting to think that it's wrong to attack pensioners who are doing it tough. They wouldn't know the increase dates, or that the CPI rises are already legislated years ago. All feeds into the "unsustainable" thing doesn't it.
