Miners, farmers, have panic attack over diesel fuel subsidies ahead of Paris

Turnbull has caved in to the far right of the Liberals with them having a big panic attack and hissy fit over pretty much nothing at all.

Countries want Australia to sign a document promising to phase out fossil fuel fools subsidies. Although there was no evidence the document would affect the subsidies on diesel fuel used by the farming and mining sector (according to the Lieberal acting Prime minister himself Warren Truss) in any way. But that didn't stop the Lieberal hysteria.

There was a far right red alert. Ian Christenson tweeted it was an attack on coal by evil greenie lefties (or something to that effect). There was great gnashing of teeth, sackcloth and ashes, and wailing aplenty as the proclamation went out. Apparently signing the Paris document would mean the end of the diesel fuel subsidy for farmers and miners! Oh the humanity!

Panic set in, and Turnbull had to back down. Being as that he relies on the right to keep his power base and Tony Abbott at bay on the back bench. Now Australia won't sign the thing at all.

Because of yet another Lieberal lie. Because of the farm and mining lobbies.

I wonder how the farmers are going to feel with massive drought forcing them off the land then? How will the mining lobby feel when the planet get's cooked? How will the far right of the Lieberal party feel for that matter?
Earlier on Monday, Queensland Liberal-National MP George Christensen urged the Government not to sign the communique.

"To sign this is madness. It will cost jobs & give greens ammo to attack coal further," Mr Christensen said on Twitter.

The Government initially sought to downplay concerns the statement would affect the rebate.

Acting Prime Minister Warren Truss said nothing out of the Paris talks would have "any impact" on the scheme.

But after considering the matter, the Government has decided not to sign the document at all. ABC
