14% of Australians below poverty line - OECD

The existence of poverty across many nations isn't a surprise. What is a surprise is that after 24 years of uninterrupted growth Australia has 14% of it's population left behind below the poverty line.

Even more surprising one would think, is to have a gov now that's intent on increasing the poverty figures, or punishing people for being poor.
