An Olympian first - Johny Weir

I've absolutely had enough of Olympians getting on the media and crapping on about how a boycott of the Sochi games is going to hurt them and be terrible and bla bla..... The latest is from gay US figure skater Johny Weir, who has come out with this utterly revolting statement:

'Before a gay man, before a white man, I am an Olympian,' says Weir. - See more

Fucks sake, couldn't he be just a touch less selfish? That is interesting though as a lot of gays can be very selfish. I've talked about this with both Simon and David. David, being in the gay world all his life agrees that a lot of gays are selfish, well at least the ones he's met as a prospective partner. Many times that's been why he's dropped them is over their being so selfish. Simon has said a similar thing in the past too, his take on it is that gays don't have a lot of kids. Perhaps I agree with that, not sure.

Whatever the reason, this behaviour is incredibly selfish and arrogant. He's saying that his opportunity to compete in the Olympic games is more important than (for example) gay parents having their children confiscated by the state because they're gay. It's not the sort of behaviour that would enamour people to him as an example.
