US Electoral College elector says gays should be hanged - Montana

It doesn't get any more vile than this folks. Meet Dennis Scranton (the old bloke in the middle above) who is one of the electors in Montana getting ready to caste his vote for Trump. He was involved in a Facebook conversation a few years ago where he said gays should be hung. He hasn't backed down on that since then, despite asserting that he was bought up with "good morals"

Which is bad enough, but he said it in the most repulsive way imaginable, using reference to Matthew  Shepard who was infamously beaten and left to die in Wyoming because he was gay, at the time shocking the nation. He died a few days later in hospital from horrific injuries sustained in the beating.
Ravndal was commenting on a Billings Gazette article concerning an American Civil Liberties Union lawsuit about same-sex couples. In the post, Ravendal wrote “marriage between a man and a woman period!”

Scranton responded to the Tea Party leader’s remark, saying, “I think fruits are decorative. Hang up where they can be seen and appreciated. Call Wyoming for display instructions.” The Wyoming mention was an apparent reference to Matthew Shepard, a gay university student who was beaten, bound to a fence post and left for dead outside Laramie in 1998. Shepard died six days later. Missoulian
