46,800 same sex couples in Australia who can't get married - census

Two people
From the last Australian census there is nearly 47,000 Australian couples who are a couple enough to declare themselves so on the census. David and I among them. 

That's 47,000 couples, many of them with children, who can't get married.

Convicted rapists, convicted murders, convicted paedophiles, can be married whilst in jail for their crimes. David and I can't simply because we're gay.
