The Australian paper has a go at Duncan - grrrrr

The Australian, owned by Murdoch's Newscorp, has splashed this stupid headline across it's front page. Apparently the actual story wasn't so bad as the headline, but that's not the point. It's a cheap shot.

I haven't read the story as online it's behind a paywall, and I'm fucked if I'm going to give a cent to Newscorp. Or buy an actual paper paper in these days of electronica.

So we're pretty much left with the headline, that net Duncan doesn't pay tax. Well actually that's not true, as Duncan pointed out the other night. It's called the 10% Goods and Services Tax bought in by the Lieberals, which unfairly taxes the poor more than the rich (as a percentage of income). Then we have the $18,000 tax free threshold, which as we know if you earn under that you get all the tax paid back in July.

So what? Is the guy not allowed to eat?

Thing is, Newscorp didn't pay any tax last year either, multi-bazillion company they are.
