Turnbull's deal with the devil to become PM - Q&A

Not in so many words as my title, but that's pretty much what Hewson is saying. 

We don't have a PM who can lead in Turnbull. We have a puppy dog yes man to the extremist right of his party. 

The gov is being run not from the PM's office but from the back bench "gov in exile". Abbott's polices have stayed, and the electorate is acting accordingly.
