"Pay us to defend you" - Trump's ultimate insult to US allies

Pine gap, Australia
Pine Gap, secret US installation off limits to the Australian public
Trump has a plan to pay off US debt, and it's not by getting corporations to pay tax.

No, he has insulted all US allies to the core, including his closest one Australia. Although he didn't mention us particularly, we are still an ally with a large US military  presence here. That presence very controversial I might add. It includes US troops in Darwin as a relatively soft US power projection against China, along with Pine Gap which is a vital part of US intelligence and information gathering. Also used to triangulate the Patriot missiles some years back and drone strikes today.

We've also more than done our bit in all the wars that the US has been involved in for a long long time. The US didn't bother much about WW2 BTW whilst we were fighting Hitler sending our men from the other side of the world to Europe, my father being one of them. We also defended Australia against the Japanese forces entering Papua New Guinea, the Kokoda trail becoming part of WW2 legend for us. The stupid US lead Vietnam war we paid for with our men's lives. Iraq and Afghanistan. Now Syria. We've been there lock step every step of the way, and more.

Now Trump wants the US allies to pay "tribute" to the US for the US to protect us! OMG, what a low prick of an insult. What an asshole this man is.

Aside from the fact that we could charge him "tribute" money for us defending the US (alla Pine Gap) or that we could charge the US money for the infrastructure supporting US troops in Darwin, the ultimate insult is the lives that we've lost in war, particularly stupid US wars.

How about paying the families of the many Australians lost in Vietnam, reparations for those lost fighting in said stupid war? How do you even put a monetary value on that?

And that's what's the worst thing of all about this, that Trump is reducing war to a simple monetary value. To the dollars. A loved one's life is priceless. Not only that but he ignores our lives lost and our sacrifice for the US and the west.
